Meet Nathan Isaacs

A veteran storyteller who loves "futzing around" his 1910 Craftsman home.

Nathan Isaacs has spent more than 20 years telling stories—from his days as an award-winning newspaper reporter to his time as a U.S. Navy submarine sailor.

Nathan’s career spans more than 20 years working in the public and private sectors including working as an award-winning newspaper reporter in Southeast Washington, helping a startup build electric vehicle charging stations, and serving as a decorated U.S. Navy submarine sailor. He has been Tasered, hiked alongside Lewis and Clark re-enactors, been a brief suspect in a gangland murder and stalked by an outlaw motorcycle gang.

Having launched or produced nine podcasts over the last decade, he created The Good Measure to have conversations with others about home maintenance, real estate, DIY projects, getting expert advice and more all with the "off-beat and irreverent" vibe of a classic call-in show.
When he isn’t producing podcasts like Insights Unlocked or Awkward Silences, Nathan can be found riding his road bike, making beer, or watching This Old House for the millionth time, "And I'm Nate Isaacs."
He lives in Portland's Hollywood/Grant neighborhood with his wife and two kids.
